we tell better stories, people will want to hear the them. In
our seven summers of operation, New River Dramatists has developed 340
new dramatic works for stage and screen, almost half of which have already
been professionally produced or optioned.

Marathon Festival subsequent to its development at NRD.

With Anna, by Keith Bunin
developed entirely at NRD, this play was presented at a benefit evening
for the Santa Monica College arts complex, with a cast that included Glenne
Headly and Alfred Molina; it was also produced in New York during the
2002-2003 season.

West Theater Festival at Denver Center Theatre Company, Boston Theatre

and received a full production in NY at Ensemble Studio Theatre prior
to being worked on at NRD.

Bodies, by Arthur Giron
developed at NRD, this was produced at Ensemble Studio Theatre in 1999,
and at Marin Theatre Company in San Francisco. Received a grant from the
Sloan Foundation.

Parasites, by Jessica Goldberg
developed at NRD, received a a full production at the Mark Taper Forum
in L.A. in 2003-2004.

Dolls, by Jack Heifner
developed entirely at NRD, this was done at the Phoenix New Play Festival
in Arizona, and at Ensemble Studio Theatre’s Octoberfest (in NY), both
in 2002. Will be presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August,
2005.
Dwarf
Tossing, by Jack Heifner
was done at the Phoenix New Play Festival in Arizona.Will open at the
Dallas Festival of Independent Theatres in July, 2005.
Earth
to Bucky, by Jack Heifner
developed entirely at NRD, this play was produced, in June 2001at the
Key West Theater in Florida, and received a full production in 2003 at
Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, NY.
Seduction,

received a full production at The New Conservatory Theater in San Francisco
in 2004. Received a production at Baron's court Theatre in London in November,
2004 that production is scheduled to be at the New York Work Festival
in August, 2005.

produced at the Vital Theatre Company in New York City in September 2002

this play received a full production in NY at The Homegrown Theatre subsequent
to its development at NRD, and was then produced by the B Street Theatre
in Sacramento.
Hyperactive, by Olga Humphrey
received a full production in Providence, Rhode Island, as the winner
of The Perishable Theatre’s 1999 Women's Playwriting Festival. The playwright
received a Fellowship in January 2003 from the Independent Feature Project
(IFP) for a screenplay that she adapted from this play.
Paranoia,
by Olga Humphrey
developed entirely at NRD, this was recently produced in Boston as the
winner of a new play contest. It will be produced at The Alleyway Theatre
in Buffalo as part of their 2003 season.
Veronika
Vavoom, Volcanologist, by Olga Humphrey
developed entirely at NRD, this play received its World Premiere Production
at Boston Theatre Works in May 2003.
As
It Is In Heaven, by Arlene Hutton
developed at NRD, this play premiered at the Edinburgh Festival 2001,
where it received The Stage's nomination for Best Ensemble. It opened
in New York at the 78th Street Theatre Lab in 2001 and subsequently moved
to the ArcLight Theatre for a run in 2002. It then ran at the Actor's
Co-op, a professional theatre in Los Angeles, through April 2003. The
acting edition is printed by Drama Play Service and the play appeared
in the upcoming Smith & Kraus anthology, Women Playwrights: Best Plays
2002. The playwright observes that “my residency at Healing Springs was
very important in the writing of this play”, and New River Dramatists
was mentioned in program and publication acknowledgments.

Medley
developed entirely at NRD, this play won a national contest held by Montclair
State University, which staged it in a full production in June 2001.
Relativity,

Magic Theatre in San Francisco during its 2003-2004 season. It was also
awarded a Sloan Foundation Grant through Ensemble Studio Theatre's (NY)

Half-Life,

started and developed at NRD, this new play is scheduled for production
in Europe.
The Guys, by Anne Nelson
previously produced at The Flea Theater in New York, where it ran for
a year. Subsequently produced worldwide, and made into a feature film
starring Sigourney Weaver and Anthony LaPaglia.
Stand,
by Toni Press-Coffman
received full productions at the Purple Rose Theatre in Chelsea, Michigan;
the Shipping Dock Theatre Festival in Rochester, NY; and at the Bloomington
Playwrights Project in Bloomington, Indiana, all prior to its development
at NRD.
